The International Olive Council Competition for extra virgin olive oils for which the “Mario Solinas” Quality Award is awarded annually (one of the most prestigious internationally) responds to Decision No. DEC-1/82-IV /00 taken by the Council on June 8, 2000 to institute the entry into force, starting with the 2000/01 campaign, of this Award whose creation was decided by said body in 1993.
