Jaen Selection

The distinctive “Jaén Selección”, created in 2003 by the Provincial Council of Jaén, encompasses the best extra virgin olive oils from this province in each harvest. This distinction rewards excellence in the quality of this product, the emblem of Jaén, the world's leading producer of olive oil.
In 2024, this quality label has been awarded to eight oils, all of the picual variety, 7 from conventional production, and one from organic production. The selection of these oils is carried out through a blind Tasting-Competition under the criteria of a jury made up of professionals from the best tasting panels in the country. After their selection, these oils are present in the tourism and agri-food promotion actions promoted by the Jaén Provincial Council and play a leading role in the OleotourJaén tourism strategy. They are the best ambassadors of Jaén.
